Rooting hormones?

Can anyone tell me how to really use rooting hormones?I'd like to start some Honeysuckle and Mock orange tree along with a Magnolia .But I'm not sure and it doesn't have clear instructions with the starter.Do you plant right in the ground after or in a pot?? Can anyone help? And how do you know what part to cut?

Rooting hormones?
there are two types! one for softwood and one for hardwood cuttings! most likely u have the weaker one... the one for softwood cuttings!

to use it, pour some out on some paper or something, get the new cutting wet and roll it in the powder, tap off extra powder, then plant in a mixture of sand, and water..... it's best if u have a greenhouse environment, like a tray with a lid! in two to three weeks it will have rooted and is ready to plant! keep the tray wet enough to see condensation on the lid!
Reply:Usually cut a branch from new wood a few inches below a bud. Dip in rooting hormone. Make a planting hole (the handle of a wooden spoon works really well) and plant deep enough to cover that bud. It shouldn't matter, ground or pot, but must be kept moist and out of direct sun. Can be planted behind the original plant and transplanted after it grows roots.
Reply:If there is a joint or branch cut below it, wet and dip in the hormone, pot until growth is established. WARNING!! rooting hormone has some bad, bad ingredients in it and be careful with it also wash your hands well after handling it!!
