Climbing evergreen honeysuckle. Best support?

Just planted three to hopefully cover an ugly fence. Is trellis best for support or is netting/wire mesh any good? Im open to suggestions!

Climbing evergreen honeysuckle. Best support?
a trellis is deff. best. however if your covering a chain link fence, it will climb right up the fence just fine.
Reply:Over the years, the vine will grow over the fence and become very heavy. Use rebar stakes and heavy gage wire mesh for the vine to attach to. Look for animal/pen fencing. Keep it trimmed at the top. Begin to train the plant to cover the width as well as the height.
Reply:Trellis. Honeysuckle can get heavy.
Reply:I have some too its covered the whole back half of my garden lol. But it flowers nicely and smells nice too. Um i have a fence with a trellece running ontop and it seems to be doing good. But once it becaomes established you will definatly need support as the truncks can get up to 1" diameter like mine.

P.S a word of Advise Keep an eye on it and don't let it get out of control. Mine is interfeering with my rose shrubs n everything!

Good Luck
