Could snails be eating the bunds on my honeysuckle?

The buds are disappearing but no evidence of them falling off onto the grass. There are three suspicious looking snails behind the trestle...

I don't think it's a caterpillar. Some of the buds look too big for a caterpillar to eat. I saw one tiny caterpillar the other day but none since. Help!

Could snails be eating the bunds on my honeysuckle?
It's more likely to be birds, as they do this with other plants and trees. Place some scary items near by or tied to the plant itself, this will stop the guilty party.
Reply:call the snail police!....it's obviously a well organised gang of molluscs that are doing these large scale plant blags
