Senior ladies, can you remember your favourite.....?
Dorothy Grey 'Midnight' was a favourite of mine in my teens. Also Hartnell 'In Love' until I was pregnant for the first time and it made me sooooooooo sick. Even now if I think about it I can still smell it and HATE it. Although I have 10 months to go until I become a Senior Citizen I still remember the excitement my mum's little dark blue bottle of Evening in Paris or a little bottle of California Poppy gave me. I have now progressed to all sorts of exotic perfumes but NEVER will I forget my ROOTS and the pleasure the inexpensive perfumes gave me.
Reply:my first, and for a long time, was "evening in paris"...I must have thought it was the only perfume on the market or something (or maybe I didn't get out much).

We used to have an orange blossom bush out back and it was gorgeous, so anything that smelled like orange (for a bride's bouquet) or apple blossoms we enjoyed having in a bath powder.
Reply:It was called Red Lilac and I used it more than liberally. I have hunted far and wide to see if I can get it somehow, but so far-no luck.It hasnt stopped me from using whatever I can find because I will admit to being a perfume or cologne addict. My daughter had a party for my 39th birthday and told all of the guests to bring perfumes. I was in heaven.
Reply:My favorite for a long time, was Shalimar. And then I went to

Chanel #5. When I began selling Avon on the side, I liked Topaz, and Here's My Heart, and a couple more colognes they made. I used, Charlie, and knock offs of some famous brands for a short while. And finally tried a few scents by Coty that I liked for their light floral fragrances. And I like them still today.
Reply:As a youngster, I used L'aimant, but when I started working I used Guerlain's Shalimar. I adore it, and it is still my favourite. I also used to use Carven's Ma Griffe and Estee Lauder's Youth Dew. I still use Youth Dew (and I really need it now!!).
Reply:I really liked Avon--------anything. But long ago (now don't you laugh ) I did enjoy 'Wild Rose toilet Water.'It's been many years, but I do think it had the word toilet in it. Of course it didn't come from the toilet.LOL Now i stick to Sand and Sable and White Shoulders and Passion
Reply:As a young girl, I used to wear Evening In Paris, Avon, %26amp; Hypnotique. Most of the time, I wore Hypnotique. I got a bottle of it from my sister when I was in the ninth grade %26amp; wore it years. My mom used to wear Chanel No.5 all the time.
Reply:I hate to admit this but my husband used to buy me Lily of the Valley. Cheap, I know, but I actually used to wear it! Just to please him of course. I personally couldn't stand it. That was back in the 1960's and was probably all he could afford.
Reply:When i was very young i wore Gardinia,,honeysuckle ,When i got married i wore white shoulders, when i was raising my kids it was Musk, and then i started wearing Poeme by lancome,it is my favorite
Reply:Ciara, when I was a teenager, I wore Liz Claiborne in my 20's. Now,I only wear it very sparingly. I prefer Our own natural sent, maybe a touch of Burberrys of London.
Reply:Ha ha - good question, but I'm not sure I like being called "senior"!

I liked Fidgi too. Also Charlie, Tramp, Panache and Kiku.

Edit: ooh, I almost forgot Rive Gauche
Reply:Hartnell "In Love"...came in a beautiful heart shaped bottle, and the talcum was pink heart shaped. Just beautiful. Also Ponds dreamflower talc was a favourite, gorgeous light fresh smell.
Reply:When I was a teen back in the '60's, it was English something. Was it English Rose? Not English Leather (that was for men). Now this will be bugging me till I can think of the answer..
Reply:Can any of you remember "Evening in Paris"? It was packaged in a little blue bottle. Now this does go back many years. There was also one called "Tweed".
Reply:Tigress,Laimont,Heaven Scent,Shalimar,Chantilly

I'd still like to get ahold of some Tigress. They came out with a new Tigress but it didn't smell the same
Reply:My mom used to have a bottle of "White Shoulders" that I used to sneak dabs from. (I, however, am from the "Loves Babysoft" and "Jean Nate'" generation.)
Reply:Muguet de Bois (Lily of the Valley).

Thanks. I had forgotten all about that.

Twenty -two years later it was my daughter's favorite.

And she didn't even know I had worn it too.
Reply:I loved Chanel No 5 (and still do). I loved Coty Laimant and Avon Peaches.
Reply:"Somewhere" creme sachet , by Avon .
Reply:Tigress was about the only one I really liked as a teenager.
Reply:Evening in Paris and it used to be sold in G. C. Murphy stores.
Reply:Yardley ~ Vanilla Bean
Reply:Taboo was nice and one called In Love by Helena Rubinstein
Reply:Through my hippy days I wore nothing but patchouli. I still love the smell of it ... perhaps it helps to memories, they were good days!
Reply:Orange Musk by Jovan.
Reply:Musk was the big thing then. I still love the smell.
