Frizzy /puffy hair?

Curly (corkscrews) mixed race hair.My hair can dry up fast depending if my hair is very puffy:

Hi I shampoo my hair today with diluted honeysuckle aubrey organics and then I conditioned with 1/2 a bottle of suave coconut conditioner( I added almost 1/2 a measuring cup of melted shea butter + 3 tsp of grapeseed oil+3 tsp of olive oil+drops of rose hip oil).

The conditioner sat on my hair for very long in the tub about 30 min to an hour because the hot water was gone, but when the hot water came back my hair had already shrunk ,became puffy, frizzy, and the water dried up in my hair.I then wash out the conditioner and it stilll stay puffy that I had to braid my hair in 2 french braids leaving bangs out.My mom said that leaving conditioner in my hair might of been the problem.Could that be the problem? could the cold weather cause my hair to do that? to the curly heads, how long do you leave a conditioner in your hair? is 1/2 a cup of shea butter too much?

Frizzy /puffy hair?
I think that weather might be the problem. 1/2 a cup is too much. You should buy sunsilk its a shampoo and conditioner.

You could also put a product called Hair Polish after you come out the shower

Reply:i think it may have been the cold weather that did it.
Reply:Way to much.

And that doesn't happen to my hair.
Reply:Hi girl... conditioners are supposed to be left on for about 2-3 minutes...more than that did once frizz up my hair..i had used extra quantity of conditioner too.

Here's what i do to avoid frizz in my hair(i dont have curly hair though..but mine is very dry) :

The day u wanna wash ur hair, oil it and keep the oil on for atleast a few hours... overnite is good too..but oil can mess up ur bedsheets...so gotta watch that.

Then i dont condition after shampoo and it leaves my hair much well settled than what a conditioner does.

I use coconut oil... but what u can do is that mix ur choice of oils... olive oil mixed with coconut oil works well in giving a silky feel to ur hair.Cold weather dries hair too..and oil locks in much more moisture and protein in ur hair than conditioners.

When short of time, u can use egg to condition before shampooing...egg white doesnt stink..so just apply on ur hair 30mins before washing...

egg yellow is good too.but it smells like hell.

Egg white dries up immediately once applied to hair and doesnt make any mess too.

One thing is that too many products make hair limp.I find pre wash natural conditioning(egg/oil) better and gives hair much better look than hair products. If ur hair is naturally puffy, let it be..just keep it healthy and well groomed and it would look great..coz thats how it is naturally... healthy hair = great looking hair irrespective of the style.
Reply:weather does mess up your hair.
