Memory lane?

We were talking to our children about the great things were able to do. I was just looking outside my window and noticed how the world has changed. My husband and I started reminising about how you could tell when it was spring when we were little. I remember being able to tell by looking outside my window and noticing beautiful green leaves, honeysuckle filling the trees, and birds always seemed to sing at a certain time of the day. He remember being to smell certain types of flowers that only bloomed during a certain time of the year. We were able to play pretty much from sun up to sun down without worrying about being beatup, snatched,or shot. We didn't need tv back then we had alot of kids in our neighborhood. I'm a 80's child. He is a 70's child. These were tnings that made us happy when we were little. I was just wondering what were some of your favorite things that were memorable and enjoyable for you when you were young that you missed now.

Memory lane?
Running around barefoot in the summer .................
Reply:Walking to school with a group of friends, burning leaves in the fall.

Mom at home, Dad at work. Being able to play outside. Hopscotch, tag, hide n' seek ,dodge ball.. you never see kids outside playing anymore.. Remember hearing mom's in the neighbor hood calling the kids to come home? Not anymore. the kids are all inside on the PC getting fat.. sorry kids, its true
Reply:Im still young, but i dont do anything i use to. Mud fights always playing pretend with my cousins and building fort. Making up games. HIDE N SEEK! Always being with my dad, unfortunilty he passed away when i was 8 so it was really hard. But i miss being 6 or 7, always the best time. Scraped knees are easy to heal then broken hearts. I miss being younger. Candy Land to!! =]
Reply:Ahhh, a Quick whif of the 6th grade.
Reply:I'm a 50's child and I miss the magic I felt as a child. Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy; all of those fictional characters that made life so wonderous.
