Does honeysuckle survive harsh climates and strong winds?
Honeysuckle is a climber, there are ones that are evergreen and those that are deciduous. Depending on the species that you have it may or may not survice the snow. The Colombine or yellow hunysuckle is vertually industructable the more delicate one need a green house which is heated to survive british winters. The wind is another matter. You can batter it and it will grow again. It takes s very strong wind to remove it from walls when it is established as it produces what are called adventisous roots which cling to even brick. Any dying part can be removed and it will regrow. When it grow again take cuttings from it and grow them in a different part of the garden, In a large pot near the front of the house for example, so that you have a spare if the worst happens and it dies. Plants get old as well as us humans.
